What is SPP
The Spatial Planning Platform (SPP) was established by the Government of Japan and UN-Habitat's Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific in 2018 as a network of stakeholders aiming to achieve the formulation and implementation of more effective national and regional spatial planning. The platform acts as a framework for central governments, international organizations, local governments, NGOs, private sector, experts, and other various institutions to share knowledge and exchange experiences.
The 8th SPP Meeting will be held as Part I of the "South Asia Seminar on Sustainable Urban Development.“, organized in collaboration with UN-Habitat and JICA.
This meeting will feature keynote speeches and panel discussions on recent national land policies. *Further details will be announced in due course.

How to participate
The South Asia Seminar on Sustainable Urban Development (including the SPP Meeting) is open to anyone online via Zoom Webinar (Free to attend, except for the networking event following the seminar). Simultaneous interpretation (Japanese/English) will be provided. The webinar link will be sent to those who register using the application form below.
Application Deadline: December 12, 2025
For those wishing to attend in person, separate instructions will be provided by the UN-Habitat Fukuoka Regional Office. Please send your affiliation, name, and contact details (email address) to the email address below by Friday, December 12.
